~ Combined Accident Reduction Effort aims to save lives ~ TAMPA, Fla. - Col. John Czernis, director of the Florida Highway Patrol, announced today the commencement of a statewide traffic enforcement initiative entitled Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort), which focuses on violations for speed, lack of safety belt use, and Driving Under the Influence. The 72-hour campaign begins July 3, 2009, and runs through July 5, 2009. The operation is part of a national program aimed at reducing the number of traffic crashes on interstate highways during holiday weekends. |
